Terms of use

These terms explain how Exameds works and what you agree to when you use it or buy an exam plan. If anything is unclear, email hello@exameds.com.

What Exameds is

Exameds is a preparation service for UK medical exams such as PLAB and Royal College examinations. It offers practice questions, timed mocks, study notes, a Study Tutor and, for some exams, a Virtual Examiner that marks your answers and Simulated Patients for OSCE stations. It does not guarantee any exam result.

Exameds is independent. It is not connected to, or endorsed by, the GMC, any Royal College or any exam provider.

Exameds is for exam preparation only. It is not clinical guidance and must not be used to make decisions about real patients. Always follow current local and national guidance in practice.

Accounts

  • You must be 18 or over to create an account.
  • Keep your password safe and do not share your account. Tell us if you think it has been misused.

Free trial and exam plans

Each exam has a free trial with a limited number of questions and a few AI credits. An exam plan unlocks everything for that exam. Plans are paid for once, for a fixed term of 3 or 6 months, counted from the day you buy. A plan does not renew automatically. When it ends you keep your progress and can still use the free trial.

  • Buying a plan for the same exam while it is running adds the new term to the end.
  • Prices are shown in pounds before you pay. The price you see is the price you pay.
  • Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store card details.

How Exameds uses AI

The Study Tutor, the Virtual Examiner and the Simulated Patients are computer-generated using AI (Anthropic's Claude). They are not real people, and no clinician takes part in a session. Questions, explanations and study notes are written with the help of AI and checked by a doctor against current UK guidance. They can still be wrong. Every question and every marked answer can be reported, and reports are reviewed.

Each plan includes monthly AI credits for the Study Tutor, examiner marking and Simulated Patient stations; when they are used up, you can mark your own written answers against the marking points until they reset.

Using Exameds properly

  • Use it for your own learning. Do not copy the questions to publish or sell them, or try to get around the limits.
  • We may suspend an account that is abused or shared.

Content

The questions, explanations and software belong to us or to the people who license them to us. You may use them for your own exam preparation. Some slide images are used under open licences; each is credited, with its licence, after you answer.

Our responsibility

We take care to keep Exameds accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Apart from that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.

Refunds

Your plan starts straight away. You can cancel within 14 days of buying for a full refund by emailing us. After that, plans are not refundable for a change of mind. Your rights if the plan is faulty or a payment was taken in error are not affected. Our Refund Policy is part of these terms.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you we will tell you before it applies to a plan you have already bought. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
