What a question bank can't do

Practice that answers back

Station 4 · Chest pain07:41 left

It started this morning, a tight pain right across my chest.

Does the pain go anywhere else, like your arm or jaw?

Down my left arm, yes. Doctor, is it my heart?

It might be. I'll get an ECG now and give you something for the pain.

PLAB 2

A patient who answers back

  • The real exam feel: a patient who reacts to what you say. Change your words and their answers change.
  • Eight minutes on the clock. Talk out loud and they reply in a matching voice, with worries and questions of their own.
  • Then a Virtual Examiner marks the three GMC domains: what you did, what you missed, the safety points.

Surgical case 7 · Your report

DiagnosisAdenocarcinoma, moderately differentiated✓
MarginsClear, nearest 12 mm✓
GradeNot stated✕

2 of 3 points met. Not met: grade.

The reasoning is shown for every point. Disagree? Report the mark.

FRCPath Part 2

Reports marked as you hand them in

  • Pan and zoom a real slide and write under the real report headings.
  • A Virtual Examiner marks each section against a model answer, reasoning shown.
  • Benign/malignant errors flagged, as in the real exam. Frozen sections and vivas by voice.

Why isn't it digoxin toxicity?

Digoxin gives scooped ST segments. Here the T waves are tall and peaked and the QRS is wide, which points to hyperkalaemia.

MRCP Part 2 · every exam

Read the ECG, then ask why

  • Full 12-lead ECGs, spirometry loops and audiograms drawn to match each question.
  • Ask the Study Tutor about any question, by voice or by typing, and hear the answer.
  • Every explanation names its guideline.

Every exam

The whole curriculum, planned to your date

  • Every unit of the published curriculum, topic by topic.
  • Red, amber and green from your own answers, so you know where the next hour goes.
  • A daily plan that spreads the topics over the days you have left.
Theatre 3 callingFrozen section · Mr Okafor, breast surgeon

Frozen section on the 2 cm breast lesion. What are you seeing?

Invasive carcinoma, no special type. I'd like paraffin sections before I commit on grade.

Understood. Anything on margins?

DiagnosisCorrect, with the right caution

FRCPath Part 2 · PLAB 2

Vivas where the examiner talks to you

  • The surgeon rings from theatre for your frozen section call. You answer out loud, and the next question depends on what you said.
  • Macro and OSPE vivas as conversations with a Virtual Examiner, including where you would take your blocks.
  • Marked point by point afterwards, with what a strong candidate would have said.

Checked by a doctor

Every question, checked against current UK guidance

Original questions written to the published curriculum. Nothing copied from past papers or other banks.

  • A doctor checks every question against NICE, the BNF and Royal College datasets before it goes live.
  • Every explanation names the guideline it comes from.
  • Spot something wrong? Report any question in one tap and we look at it.
  • Exam preparation, not clinical guidance.
